GRANTS FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS LIVING ABROAD AND ITALIAN CITIZENS LIVING ABROAD (IRE) AWARDED BY THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR THE A.Y. 2025-2026
DEADLINE: MAY 16th 2025, 2 P.M. (CET – Central European Time)
The Embassy of Italy informs that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) has published the call for applications for grants in favour of foreign students residing abroad and Italian citizens residing abroad (IRE) for the academic year 2025-2026.
Scholarships are offered to complete study courses and research/training programs in public or legally recognized Italian educational institutions.
Grants are compatible exclusively with the onsite attendance of academic courses on the Italian territory.
Type of study courses:
- Master’s Degree programmes (Laurea Magistrale 2° ciclo)
- Higher Education for Fine Arts, Music and Dance programmes (AFAM)
Applicants must have reached the age of majority and must not be older than 28 years by the application deadline, except in the case of renewals.
- PhD program
Applicants must have reached the age of majority and must not be older than 30 years by the application deadline, except in the case of renewals.
- Research projects under academic supervision (Progetti in co-tutela)
Applicants must have reached the age of majority and must not be older than 40 years by the application deadline.
- Italian language and culture advanced courses
In order to enroll, applicants must provide a certification regarding their proficiency in Italian language. The minimum level required is A2 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
