On the occasion of “BORDERLESS EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2025 (GORIZIA and NOVA GORICA)” the Embassy of Italy, in collaboration with the Ateneo de Manila University, is organizing a conference on February 8th dedicated to European identity and the successful European integration process.

For the first time, the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture is shared between cities in two neighboring countries. The joint candidacy of Gorizia and Nova Gorica aims to highlight the integration between the two cities fostered through EU cohesion projects and the commitment of Italy and Slovenia to further promote cross-border cooperation.

The conference, which will take place at the Department of European Studies at Ateneo de Manila University, will feature Professor Claudio Cressati from the University of Udine, an expert in European integration and director of the Erasmus Mundus Euroculture Master’s program. He will provide a perspective on the recent history of Gorizia and its relationship with its twin city across the border.
