International Silent Film Festival Manila 2022
The annual International Silent Film Festival Manila (ISFFM) is now back with in-person festivities in celebration of its 16th edition from 24 November until 27 November 2022 at the Red Carpet, Shangri-La Mall, Mandaluyong City.
This year’s ISFFM is presented by seven partner embassies and cultural organizations: Embassy of France to the Philippines, Goethe-Institut Philippinen, Embassy of Italy in Manila, The Japan Foundation Manila, Film Development Council of the Philippines, Instituto Cervantes de Manila and the British Council in the Philippines, in partnership with Shangri-La Plaza, Red Carpet Cinemas, The Philippine Italian Association, Embassy of Japan in the Philippines and Embassy of Spain in the Philippines.
The four-day Silent Film Festival will start on Thursday, 24 November, with the screening of British film “Piccadilly”, which will be followed by “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror” (Germany), “La sultane de l’amour” (France), “Malvaloca” (Spain), “The Lady and the Beard” (Japan). Philippines will participate with three short films.
The Embassy, in partnership with The Philippine Italian Association and in cooperation with Cineteca di Bologna presents:1921 Ubaldo Maria Del Colle masterpiece “I Figli di Nessuno” (Nobody’s Children). The film, based on a famous Italian novel by Ruggero Rindi, is set in the white marble mines of Carrara and is a tale of lovers thwarted by class differences, of illegitimate children, and denied parental recognition.
Award-winning Filipino music and audio producer Pepe Manikan will bring deeper emotions to this masterpiece with his live musical scoring!
The Italian film is schedule on Sunday, 27 November at 3PM at the Red Carpet Cinema 1.
