For the promotion of the Italian language and culture in foreign (non-university) schools, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with Director’s Decree No. 4815/0276 of February 17, 2025, outlines the criteria and methods for granting contributions set forth in Article 4 of the mentioned decree for the calendar year 2025.
CONTRIBUTIONS
The above-mentioned grants are awarded for:
- The establishment and maintenance of existing Italian language chairs at foreign educational institutions, intended to partially cover the salary of teachers hired directly by the schools under contracts by local law;
- Alternatively, to partially contribute to scholarships for study trips to Italy for honor students who have successfully attended Italian language and culture courses.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
Schools interested in formalizing their request must submit the application at the following e-mail address: manila.culturale@esteri.it no later than March 18, 2024.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONTRIBUTIONS REQUEST
Applications for contributions must be accompanied by the following documents:
- A LETTER FROM THE REQUESTING EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION, written in Italian, containing the school’s identifying information (name, address, contact details) and a detailed explanation of the request, signed by the school’s director;
- “ATTACHMENT A” for the request for contributions to Italian language chairs and “ATTACHMENT B” for the request for scholarships/study trips to Italy. The signature of the school’s legal representative must be legible and uploaded in jpeg format.
- “ATTACHMENT A2” and “ATTACHMENT B2” for the reporting of the results achieved in 2024 and evidence of the usage of the last grant received.
All educational institutions that have previously received contributions and have not yet reported them must submit the final report and the accounting for the use of the last granted contribution using the new editable forms “ATTACHMENT A2” and “ATTACHMENT B2” by the specified date.
It is important to note that the submission of the reporting documents is not only a condition for the approval of the new request but also a mandatory requirement for all foreign institutions that have received contributions within the last five years, regardless of whether a new request is being submitted.
The forms have been created in an editable PDF format to facilitate data entry and allow the school’s legal representative to upload their signature (in jpeg format). To ensure the full functionality of the editable PDF format, it is necessary to open the attachments via Adobe, Internet Explorer, or Edge.
This office will only accept grant requests where the forms are completed in the editable PDF format.
