The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offers scholarships to foreign students and Italian citizens residing abroad (IRE) for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The scholarships are intended for attendance of study, training, or research programmes at public or legally recognised private Italian institutions and include:
- master’s degree programmes;
- PhD programmes;
- AFAM programmes (Higher Education in Art, Music and Dance);
- research projects
- advanced courses in Italian language and culture.
Scholarships are awarded exclusively for the onsite attendance of academic courses on the Italian territory
The scholarships include a financial grant as well as health and accident insurance coverage. Their duration may vary depending on the programme of study.
Applications must be submitted exclusively online through the Study in Italy portal, no later than 2:00 p.m. (CET) on 26 March 2026.
