The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers foreign universities the opportunity to obtain grants for the organization of training and refresher courses for Italian language teachers working in foreign universities in order to promote Italian language and culture.
GRANTS, AWARD CRITERIA AND TIMELINE
The above grants are awarded to public and private universities operating in the relevant territory that apply for them through diplomatic representatives.
Requests for training and refresher courses taking place in Italy or outside the country of service will not be accepted, nor will requests for the organization of curricular courses, conferences, seminars, debates, or for the coverage of teachers’ participation costs in the aforementioned initiatives.
In accordance with the relevant legislation, requests for training courses aimed at university students who aspire to become Italian language teachers in the future will also not be accepted. Courses must be intended for Italian language teachers already working in foreign universities.
It should be noted that any sums granted by this Office are in the nature of a contribution and not a loan. There is no obligation to accept the application or to grant the full amount requested. The amounts awarded may be equal to or less than the figures proposed by the universities.
