Social Media Netiquette <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Embassy of Italy in Manila uses social media for institutional purposes, with the aim of enhancing transparency and informing the public about its activities: it provides information, communicates, receives and publishes institutional content.<\/p>\n

The published content includes photographs, institutional videos, press releases, service information, news about the activities of the Embassy and opportunities for citizens to engage and participate. Personal data are processed in accordance with applicable legislation.<\/p>\n

Through its social media channels, the Embassy may share and repost content and messages of public interest or service-related information published by other users.<\/p>\n

The Embassy of Italy in Manila is committed to managing spaces for communication and dialogue through its social media profiles and asks its users to observe a few simple rules:<\/p>\n

    1. Everyone is asked to express their opinions with courtesy, moderation and respect.<\/li>\n
    2. On social media, everyone is responsible for the content they publish and the opinions they express. Insults, obscene language, offensive remarks, threats and, more generally, violent or defamatory behaviour shall not be tolerated.<\/li>\n
    3. Published content must always respect the protection of personal data. References to facts or details that are not of public relevance and that infringe upon the personal privacy of third parties should be avoided.<\/li>\n
    4. It is imperative to have an interest in the matters and activities of this institution: it is in no way admissible to use its spaces for purposes other than exclusively institutional ones.<\/li>\n
    5. Each discussion relates to a specific topic: all participants are asked to remain on topic, avoiding broadening the discussion in a general and indiscriminate manner.<\/li>\n
    6. No form of advertising, spams, or the promotion of private interests and illegal activities is allowed.<\/li>\n
    7. Content that violates copyright laws or involves the unauthorised use of registered trademarks is not permitted.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      In any case, where permitted by the social media platform, the Embassy staff shall remove comments or audio\/video materials that:<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Contain inappropriate language and\/or a threatening, violent, vulgar or disrespectful tone;<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Express illegal content or incite others to engage in unlawful activities;<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Contain offensive, misleading or alarmist content, or content that violates the rights of others;<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Disclose personal data and information that may cause harm or damage to another person’s reputation;<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Contain obscene, pornographic or child pornography material, or content that may offend users’ sensibilities;<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Contain discriminatory content based on sex, race, ethnicity, language, religious beliefs, political opinions, sexual orientation, age, or personal and social circumstances;<\/p>\n

      \u2013 Promote or support illegal activities, violate copyright protection or make improper use of registered trademarks.<\/p>\n

      This Embassy, consistently with the Social Media Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reserves the right to use the ban or block functions (whenever possible after a first warning)\u00a0against anyone repeatedly violating these conditions with the aim to prevent further actions, and to report the user to the platform and, if needed, to law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

      The Embassy does not interact with users through its social media profiles, which do not replace the usual channels through which the public can access information and assistance services.
