{"id":556,"date":"2022-11-23T06:18:33","date_gmt":"2022-11-22T22:18:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambmanila.esteri.it\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2022\/11\/rules-and-regulations-on-geographical-2\/"},"modified":"2022-11-23T06:18:33","modified_gmt":"2022-11-22T22:18:33","slug":"rules-and-regulations-on-geographical-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambmanila.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2022\/11\/rules-and-regulations-on-geographical-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Rules and Regulations on Geographical Indications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines has officially launched the Rules and Regulations on Geographical Indications (RR-GI ) on November 21, 2022, Monday, at the IPOPHL Multipurpose Hall, Taguig City.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Following its fifteen-day publication in a national journal of national circulation on November 5, 2022, the RR-GI (Memorandum Circular No. 2022-022) took effect on November 20, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The RR-GI is the culmination of the IPOPHL and its stakeholders effort and commitment to provide an enhanced protection to geographical indications as a catalyst for rural development and economic growth.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Geographical Indication means any indication which identifies a good as originating in a territory, region or locality, where a given quality, reputation, or other characteristic of the good is essentially attributable to its geographical origin and\/or human factors.
