Notification abroad of judicial and extrajudicial acts

Notification is a fundamental procedure of civil, criminal, taxation, bankruptcy, administrative and work processes. It gives legal notice of a specific action, being it judicial or extra-judicial, to a particular subject following determined means in the transmission of the act.

Under the art. 37 of D.Lgs 71/2011, the consular office is in charge of act notifications in compliance with EU judicial cooperation dispositions, international conventions on the matter and state laws only for Italian citizens.

Concerning the notification of judicial and extra-judicial acts on civil and commercial matter proposed by Filipino citizens, given the entry of the Philippines in the Aja Convention of the 15th of November 1965, all notifications presented after the 1st October 2020 have to be addressed to the central authority of notifications, designated by the Republic of Philippines under art., 2 of Aja Convention and located at following address:

Philippines Department of Foreign Affairs has communicated that it will not notify any judicial and extra-judicial acts via diplomacy.
