ITALIAN CONTEMPORARY ART DAY 2022
8-14 OCTOBER 2022
This year the Italian Contemporary Art Day will take place in Italy on Saturday 8 October 2022, with extension abroad from Saturday 8 October to Friday 14 October 2022 thanks to the diplomatic-consular network of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, comprising embassies, consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes.
The initiative promotion of contemporary art, curated by AMACI – Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani, is realised with the support of the Direzione Generale Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI).
In its eighteenth edition, with online and on-siteprograms,the event will revolve around the theme of ecology and environmental sustainability, in particular the relationship between nature and human action, highlighting the need to rethink the art system in response to the global climate crisis.
The artist Giorgio Andreotta Calò has been entrusted with the creation of the guiding image for the event, Icarus, which represents an invitation to reflect on the environmental crisis.
